Letters to Basswood 2
Occasionally we hear from people who have bought one (or more) of our puppies.
These letters give us much pleasure.
Here are a few of the pictures that have been send to us with extracts from some of the letters.
Please be sure to identify your own dog by its Basswood name if you write to us
-- we can't always remember!

Belle in the Heather

Mark and I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Christmas.

Belle  has really settled in. She is working well on Pheasant and Duck and
has had one memorable retrieve across water on a Goose. . .  We took her on holiday with us to Exmoor in the Autumn. So all in all we are delighted with her.

Re: Basswood Ebony called "Brooks"
Labrador Basswood Ebony
I've just discovered your website and attach a photograph of Ebony of Basswood purchased as a family pet from you eight years ago.  Named after my father 'Brooks' he is a brilliant family pet.  He has all the attributes of a labrador;  intelligent, willing to please, incredibly handsome (we are biased of course) and is a super family member joining in all our activities.  He loves his walks, and loves to swim whenever he gets a chance.

Re: Basswood Hi Pigeon's Fate, called "Gemma"

. . . I've just been looking at your website and thought I'd drop you a line to tell you how our puppy is getting on.  . . . we decided to call her Gemma aftter her Great Grandma, Gem.  My Mum you may recall bought Basswood Hesta (Luci) from you.

Luci wasn't keen to start with having her space invaded by this bouncing pup and taught Gemma who was 'top dog'.  As Gemma has grown, Luci got used to her and now they are best of friends.  Gemma has proven to be a very good natured, intelligent and bold dog. . . . She is brilliant with children. . .

My Dad runs a shoot and I introduced her to shooting at the beginning of last season.  She has taken to it really well.  Dedand other people on the shoot are pleased with her and can see potential.  She is very enthusiastic and seems to love the action of the shoot . . .Unfortunately we had to retire Luci from shooting due to an injury. . . . However, she still enjoys going with Dad feeding etc. on the farm.  She is also a steadying influence on Gemma.

I was sorry to read about your loss of Mona and Gem. . . .

Thought you might like to see recent photo of Basswood Quest (Bramble).  She has had her moments but generally she has been superb as a peg dog.

Sorry to read about your losses.
